Here we are again – a bit late as always, but better late than never. Mind you, we weren’t really dawdling because we’ve been working on the fanzine since the middle of last year. In addition, there have been some changes since we took this forced break. You are, of course, asking what happened…

First of all, you’ve probably noticed that you need to put on your reading glasses again to look through these pages…Apart from that: The “Rail Station Kiosk” initiative is over. We’ve taken this step because we recognized that a scene fanzine has no business being there. The idea that we could reach more readers this way turned out to be a fallacy. On the contrary, this distribution system contributes to the continuing loss of subculture, diversity, scene shops and venues. We do not see ourselves throwing money down the throats of greedy wholesalers and submitting to the laws of market growth. The rush to print would result in a loss of identity for future issues. The newspaper mafia should get by without us. At any rate, we will not be enslaved and decide instead for the path that we originally started on. We want a network of independent dealers, loud record shops, small businesses and people who appreciate the scene and give their lifeblood for it. So, here again we ask: Support us with adverts or in distribution of the fanzine! We rely on your help.

After the expiry of the distribution contracts and their associated obligations, we will once again be able to decide for ourselves which publication format we will use. From now forward, we will return to the all-time favourite, handy A5 pocket-sized format. Overproduction-mania! Another coercive mechanism of the industry is to always produce a huge amount. Even when sales of the product are low, there are specifications that must be fulfilled so that the shelves remain full. We also would have to mass produce, which means that in the end a portion of the edition ends up in the shredder. We are stopping this insanity and will have the number of units printed that meets the demand. We think 3,000 copies is a reasonable number. So much for the small but significant changes. In terms of content, of course, everything remains the same.

For the current issue, we have spared neither cost nor effort and soon will surprise you with a double-CD issue. Naturally, the price remains the same. When all goes well, we’ll be reading the next issue in about a year’s time…Cheers
