In July 2009 we released the CD - now the vinyl version of 'The Spirit Of 666' is finally ready for sale. This is once again a record that deserves the highest recommended seal of approval. This edition is strictly limited and it comes with a first class high gloss cover, and including a promotional CD of the entire album. The colour of the vinyl is dark black. Additionally to the CD you will find a well designed 8-page booklet attached, that contains lyrics, a lot of info and all kinds of funny pictures of the band. This edition is limited to 333 pieces. The cover design shows it’s advantage on the size of the LP so that it’s diabolic effect is
awakened. In short, a real piece of art, beyond cowboy hats, cherry knick-knack, dices and flame craziness.
With this new record Thee Flanders presents another milestone in their 12-year band history. This time they don’t deal with monsters, mummies and mutations, but they are in the middle of the fight against their own demons. Who wins here remains to be seen. Altogether there is a clear upward trend, and the title totally keeps its promise - a really diabolic circus of hell. A saint must have had a finger in the pie.
Meanwhile, hardly anybody can simply pass this crazy Combo, whether you are an insider or not. No wonder, the 5 have almost missed no big festival during the last years and pursuing us on radio, television and press, as well as having brought out a wide range of great sound carriers to the people.
Based on the numerous releases the band can laxly compete with the big names of the scene, even if the guys have rather attracted attention by extravagant cover songs, spectacular special pressings and Re-Releases & Best-Of’s than by new studio recordings during the last years.
Now, finally, after nearly 4 years of production the long expected 5th album "The Spirit Of 666" by the Psycho Rockers from Hell will be released.
The magic title already spreads a promising prevailing mood and holds an almost holy reminiscent charm in itself. Neither the redeemer nor one of the other countless rescuers and saviors bring the desired purification, but The King, as Prince of Darkness will personally be the guide into a new era.
With a total of 12 new own tracks and 2 cover songs the role players celebrate a demonic creation with magic hands, (or was it even the King?). Stylistically they are very agile once again and certainly not prudish.
The songs are full of self-realization and seem to be more mature and grown-up than in former times. Energetic enthusiasm and resourceful arrangements combined with a multi-faceted and unique vocal style bundle a massive and wild force culminating in an absolutely diabolic enjoyment of listening – a textbook example of Psychobilly!!
Like a bloodletting it is healthy to free yourself every now and then and get relieved from the along rotting phlegm. For that reason the Opener "Killer” triggers off mighty Heavy-Metal-Fireworks that Angus from AC/DC couldn’t have better striked up.
Now the evil spirits of an old epoch are exorcized and with the song "Handle With Care" the next step of an astonishing metamorphosis is directly reached. Interesting contrasts penetrate the mystic topic:
The 5 cronies maneuver us from the dissonant smash song with zomboid consistency ("Braindead") to mid-tempo Psychobilly stomper (“Just Live“) through to high PSYCHOlogy ("Evolution by Selection") and dusty Psychobilly Country ("Mans Law" & "Old Daddy Longleg").
The German song "Schlecht" in between gets scum and squalidness to its absolute climax. More oppressive Evilness and Dark Side of Rock ‘n’ Roll is impossible to present.
The spell is not over yet… when "The Witch" is playing you almost succumb to its melancholy and get bewitched directly by the bittersweet melody of this brilliant hit. In "Dinner For One" the well-disposed listener can enjoy having his soul nurtured once more, but should look out this time, as in this case the enjoyment ends deadly!!
"Mother", the monstrosity played to its infinity, unfolds all varieties in its distinctive and fulminant interpretation of the Potsdamians once again.
2 cover tracks – “1000 Tage“ an old OHL classic & "Romantik" from SOILENT GRÜN (predecessor of the band Ärzte) combine the dark round dance to a real horror trip.
